I got the baby from the notorious All Ohio Reptile show, actually the day of their big raid. The guy raises snakes but his daughter is the one raising the beardies. She was a teenager. She had various ages available and they all looked very healthy but she didn't have the parents there. I bought the younger beardie I have now because she said the parents have alot of red in them and he/she would get alot of color. I am just so relieved to be able to hold him without causing those awful tremors. And it seems like I know more about the beardies than the local vets do. I think I will join NOAH, the local reptile group, I am sure that they have many resources just for reptiles.

I am curious what brand of calcium and vitamins you were using before the switch? I just ordered the rep cal because I have heard such good things about them. I haven't experienced any problems with other brands but would like to know if one may not be as healthy.

I don't know what brand it was because the pet store I bought it from sold it in bulk form so what I got was a deli cup full of white powder. It was probably simple calcium carbonate and it didn't have the Vit D3 that is needed for it to be absorbed. At the time I didn't know enough and this is what the pet shop owner recommended to me. He is still doing very well and I can hold him anytime without one tremor. Just FYI, I have not heard good things about Repti-cal by Tetra.

Oh yeah, I WAS using Miner-All at first because I had it on hand for my veileds but the pet shop guy told me No No...use this white powder instead. I should have kept using the Miner-All (with VitD3)
