maybe it is a king snake with the temperment of a corn and the colouring of a jungle carpet python?
Some things get lost in the translation, and i've seen snakes with more then one name. ie, ball pythons are also known as royal pythons. viper boas are known as new guinia ground boas. I might be a hybrid or intergrade or it could be a perfectly normal king. How many times have we described our snakes as having the temperment of a puppy (puppy tame)? does this mean they are half puppy?
sdoup: try and get a picture and or latin name, it could clear up everything.

Good possibility it is what we would call a 'jungle corn' - a cross of california king and corn and in some instances the normally colored ones that have a yellow base color and dark brown saddles could resemble a carpet python (it is a stretch I know - we have both and no real resemblance, but I have heard the comparison before). Striping is common enough in kings and corn parents and this would likely lighten the base and saddle colors even more and stretch them out, so seems like a reasonable possibility. If so, our jungle corns have been nice pets - very similar to corns.

Well what I mean mutt is what we refer to when u breed two different species together......the term is used more with dogs say when u breed a rott with a collie....that would be a mutt.
There are nothing wrong with them, normally they make better pets than pure breeds. <in dogs that is, I am not sure about herps>
He does look like a very pretty snake tho.
