Re: Constipated? Picture included

You could try a big plastic bin instead of the bathtub so she stays in. Just drill holes at the top and put her in there, that's what I used to have to do with my ball python. He hated the bathtub but it would always make him poop if I kept him in it long enough

please be careful when handling young GTP's as their spines are quite fragile until they're over a year old

you can doze her prey item with mineral oil or milk of magnesia

the dose is 1ml of oil per kilo of snake body weight

you inject the prey with one of the above, then when the prey breaks down in the stomach,it releases the oil or magnesia into the snake.....

iy gets refered to as mouse or rat lax depending on the prey item,it works well for constypation

When we think of a time frame how long do we keep the snake in the water? Longest I've done is an hour and nothing.

Re: Constipated? Picture included

i honestly do not think your snakes constipated going by the last picture you posted

imo its a young snake and growing so the tail end will thicken out to look more in proportion

if possible hold the snake in the middle of its body, then take a picture when the bottom third is hanging straight down

take a pic from the belly, one of it's sides and a pic from its back

cheers shaun

Re: Constipated? Picture included

Spine looks kinked in the 3rd picture. Which would cause it to hold it strange.

Also, I've seen the gapping vent as well (as in first picture) and is usually a sign of the animal having a prolapse at one time or another. Looks fine in the 3rd picture but, the spine does looked slightly Kinked at the vent...most likely from trying to sex the animal.
