Hissers are a hoot and a half. Very durable buggers. One of the prettiest roaches is green in color. Can't remember the species name off the top of my head.

They were starting to swarm up into the tiles on the roof. I've seen many swarms of regular honey bees up close and these did not act at all the same. I strongly suspect that they were Africanized honey bees (killer bees) so we did our business and left ASAP.

I have seen the Palmetto's and man there creepy... and i know what you mean about killer bee's the normal ones are cute and stuff but the killers are nasty

hissers really are nothing like there american pest counterparts when used to hadling they just sorta chill when you hold them when i volenteered at the museam we used to put them on our shirts and call them roach brotches, there pretty quiet unless scared then they "hiss" which they stop when handled regularly. If you want your lp id do it

Re: roaches and more!
Would love to get some African black millis! (Your new additions would be nice to have too for that matter. )
I remember the roaches in Hawaii. Really couldn't walk at night without them falling on you out of the trees or hearing a crunch/pop as you stepped on one. Some times that was broken up by a sudden "slide" as you stepped on a black slug.

Re: roaches and more!
Very nice pick ups! I love bugs... the first time I handled a dubia when I got a starter colony to feed my tarantulas, I was hooked and had to create a separate "pet" colony lol
