Once I get taxed out on some more closer hobbies I'm going to go for broke and drop several grand on about 150 jumps and start wing suiting. The problem with all this is it is so damned expensive.
I'd recommend Skydive, DeLand if you're ever in Florida. They don't force you to jump tandem, but if you don't have your AFF stuff, you have to sign a bunch of waivers. If you have experience though, it won't be a problem. They also do wingsuit training according to the site.

My whole course costs $1,300 for the class and all my jumps, so paying all that up front I will have my license after my last level of jumps

My boyfriend feels very similarly. He see's no point in 'jumping out of a perfectly good plane'. In my opinion, you never know when you're plane is going to go bad, it's best to have the experience in skydiving and parachuting in case **** hits the fan. I'm a very paranoid person and I personally hate planes and I'm pretty sure I'm having minor panic attacks over every bump and jiggle as you fly upwards but once I'm out of the plane I'm just.... Happy. And Chill. And you can't worry about things. I found I had the literal inability to worry about anything while falling because once you're out of the plane, there isn't a point in worrying. It's very relaxing and exhilarating at the same time.

AFF is normally 7 -10 classes. A license is 25 jumps. For 1,300 they are taking you on 25 jumps as part of the class??

Who do you think was driving the plane? If you look closely you can see him trying to shoot holes through your parachute.

5k feet?!?!? What was it a static jump?? That's like BASE jumping out of a plane. I'm guessing you deployed almost instantly or it was static and auto deployed upon exiting?

the jump master layed on the bar that supports the wing, and I climbed out on the landing gear and reached over and hung off the bar the master was laying on, and hes holding my pilot shoot in his hand. ya as I open my hand and fall off the btm of the plane buddy tosses my pilot shoot, so the only free falling is the time it takes to pull my shoot out of my pack, very exciting but I want some free fall, I had a mic to hear the ground direct me back in. my second jump the corner of my shoot on one side was not openend, I had to pull on my straps over my shoulders apart a couple times, looked back up and and it finally rolled open, and we were rocking and rolling, felt like eternity tho, we had another jumper in the day had the same thing, a few planes loads before me, and the jump master ended up actually having to pull his emergency shoot just before my second jump of the day. here they teach us a 1/5 chance of having something go not as planned, from small glitches like my case to full out main shoot failure, and sure enough at the end of the night the count was pretty much on, 3 problems out of about 10, each doing 2 jumps that day. But ya Basically base jumping out of the airplane now that you mention it.

Did my first jump in 1990. Never had the money to continue. Loved it.
