Wow, you're an idiot man. If you would actually look into a balanced diet you would see that your statement is dead wrong.
On topic;
Drowning is inhumane because most animals are hard wire to struggle in water. The truth of the matter is that once you inhale water it fills your lings and you don't get that burning sensation you get when your holding your breath. I know this because I got caught in an under current when I was a child and inhaled water before I got dragged out.

So I'm an idiot because you have superiority complex? I see. =]
could you go into greater detail? I'd love some more info on this. (your first semi-paragraph)
Agreed on the second though...

Re: Inhumane Rat Killing--I'm Upset
@ Owl , I meant that I wouldn't care enough to go through all that as in, go through all that trouble to let people know about it, be a thorn in his side, etc.
But anyways, rats and mice are pests and ruin native populations of wildlife in every country they end up in. They cause nasty diseases and there are plenty to go around, so if someone wants to drown his mice, I don't give a sh$$.
As for me, If I was going to breed them, I'd probably do cervical dislocation so I don't have to do deal with a nasty bucket of water and rats, or buying c02 tanks.
If you don't like inhumane ways of killing, you should probably just go vegetarian if your not already.

I'm vegetarian and one of the most common things I'm asked since I got Magenta is "why do you feed your snake frozen rats then? They're killed cruelly."
It's like.. what do you expect me to do? Force her to eat a carrot? Just because I'm vegetarian doesn't mean I'm going to make my carnivorous pets eat veggies.
Anyways OP... I believe that all living things are sacred, however I can't say that I don't sometimes find sick pleasure in squishing bugs or throwing snails in water. Maybe your rat guy is just some weirdo with too much time on his hands...? Sometimes people take out their frustrations on animals, which is bad. I stick to insects. Or he's just one of those people who thinks freezing or drowning feeders is "so much simpler" than spending either money for a chamber or time to find how to do cervical dislocation?
If it makes you uncomfortable, stop buying from him. I would as well.

Humans are omnivorous you know. Meat is required in a healthy diet.

Er... let's not do this. I've been vegetarian for 3 years and feel fine. I actually had a blood test a few days ago and everything was perfect. :/
And I wasn't meaning to push myself on others... not all veggies are like that.

Especially for an adolescent =]
Sorry but I spread the truth man.
Anyway I agree that Co2 which is what most commercial people use is just as inhumane as drowning. I used to drawn my rats when I bought live and they were dead in 20-30 seconds because they immediately inhaled water.

They're pests so it's okay to be cruel to them.
Fabulous.

YUPPP.
You act like I sit here with live rats in my oven as we speak or something.....
Nature is cruel unfortunately, if you don't like it don't keep any animals. Drowning is a lot more humane than the way your reptiles kill in the wild anyways. I buy frozen, and I don't get any pleasure out of killing rats I assure you, but I don't shed tears over the ugly things neither.

They are filthy creatures that bit and spread terrible diseases, they smell.
I have mice in the winter in my house and I use the glue traps so they suffer. =]

Re: Inhumane Rat Killing--I'm Upset
CO2 tanks are far from humane. I hated using them because you could hear the animals thrashing in there for minutes before they would die. It's no better than drowning. Cervical dislocation or a spike to the brain is much quicker and more humane for the animals.
