They aren't worth 35,000 - babies sell for $7000 a pair. But that is our male, and I would be dumb to sell him and only have the big female.
In fact, I'd never sell them, and if we get babies some day, I'll have a hard time parting with any of them.
If they weren't so rare in zoos and private collections (and hopefully some day soon they won't be), I think they'd be a very popular snake, they make great pets and easy to take care of compared to most pythons, from our limited experience.
And then there is their beauty, and that black black head, blacker than any other living thing I've ever seen. We've never had womas, quite a few friends do - but we held out for blackheads.
