Well today was an interesting day at Euro. Sweden played a great game and scored some amazing goals. The diving header from Larsson was incredible, he's a great striker and very dangerous in the air.

The Italy game was also an exciting game to watch. Both teams had chances to score but the keepers did well. The only negative thing about that game was Totti's challenge on the Danish player near the end of the match. It was a horrible tackle, IMO should have been a straight red card, he had no intention of playing the ball, he attempted to injure the player. Other than that, it was a great day of European football.

Well Portugal did win but it wasnt impressive. I believe that they need a win against spain to advance. If they do win and greece at least ties, then Spain is eliminated. VIVA PORTUGAL!!!

I think Portugal played a overall good game today - I really enjoyed watching the game. However, they really need to put Ronaldo on as a starter. I mean, the guy is amazing! His first two international games, and he scores once and delivers a beautiful pass. I knew Portugal would win, as I know they will beat Spain. My prediction is 3 - 1 in Portugals favour.

I was a little disappointed in the Spain game. Spain easily deserved the win, and were the better team for the game, but unfortunately Greece was able to squeeze in that unforunate goal. Only problem is, I do not think Spain will advance now. Portugal will beat them, and Greece will beat Russia, leaving them tied with four points. At that point Greece will likely have more goals, and thus they will advance with Portugal. That is what I think, at least. Needless to say, I was upset that Spain did not get the win.

Well, UEFA made the decision in regards to Totti's fate - he is suspended for three days. I personally think that is ridiculous; first of all, he was provoked by the Denmark player. You don't even get three days for a red card. Second of all, if Denmark can go back and file a complaint with video as proof, I suppose Italy can go file a complaint for the thousands of dives that Denmark made in that game. Grrrr....

I am a little upset that France at this point advances no matter what, I was really hoping they would get eliminated right away. And I am still upset at the Totti call, it is just ridiculous. Hey, why don't we go back and file a complaint from the World Cup, when italy was stripped of three goals, called offside, which with video revision are clearly onside.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? It doesnt matter if it was provoked or not, spitting in someones face doesnt belong in the game. Consider Totti lucky to only get 3 games, another player during champions league received an 8 game suspension for the same thing. Totti was also lucky not to get a red card for that brutal tackle at the end of the match. As for the dives, sadly enough it has become a part of the game and you cant say that none of the Italians dive, every team has a player who goes down way to easily.

Well done England and Croatia was unlucky not to win, the Frecnh forward knocked the ball down with his hand. Oh well, it should be interesting to see how the group ends up.

CDN CRESTIES:

I agree with you, this is why I love soccer over other sports, there are rules and a certain range of conduct and all players gotta respect it. The players play the game not make the rules and get away with it. Like other sports I know where it gets more and more violent and rules get changed a bit at a time.

Spitting at someone is just wrong and yes he was lucky he no red card.

My 2 cents oh well.

Italy lost again because they went into their defensive shell, they had the game under control until they made those subs. They now have to win against Bulgaria 3-0 in order to advance through, thats of course if Sweden and Denmark tie. Im sure they'll be able to score 3 goals on Bulgaria but you never know with this Euro.

What a day, Spain took Portugal too lightly by relying on history and Portugal outplayed them. Of courses Portugal got some breaks but so did Spain. VIVA PORTUGAL!!!!

Your right, it shouldn't be a part of the game, but for some reason I still don't think it is right to go back with 'video evidence' and make a claim. Soccer has always been, if the referee does not see it, it did not happen - that was part of the game. Although Totti's tackle did look like a malicious one, I do not think he all out intended on taking the player out. The end of the game was nearing, they were not winning against a team in which they should have been dominating, he was frustrated. I think he made a move too late and just followed through with it.

Yes, every team has a diver. However, not every team dives at every opportunity, and to that extent. My sister would cry less getting hit with equal force of some players that game, yet they nearly went into tears. And what upset me the most, is they faked a fall at crucial times to Italy, for example, during a scoring chance, or a likely opportunity to get something started. Again, in my opinion, soccer should remain that if the ref does not see it, it did not happen. I love the sport to death, however when I see instances like this, and people crying over being tapped in the shins while wearing shin pads, I sit there and laugh at how pathetic they are. Like I said, if Denmark can go back and file that complaint, why can't Italy do the same for the World Cup games when they were eliminated by Korea because the referee's rigged the game, and discounted several goals that with revision of the video clearly shows the player being onside. Aw well, that is in the past now.

I am glad Portugal advanced, I am a little disappointed that Greece went through rather then Spain, but such is life.
