Mine does it nightly. He started doing it around 6 months old.

Re: Has your baby BRB started changing?
Cici's sides appear about the same, day (when she's visible), or night. She's about 4 mos. old. At about what age do the noticeable changes begin? I wasn't able to see the parents of my current BRB but I'm hoping she becomes more red than she is. I got het her at the last Tinley Park show, so far one she'd, no noticeable change in color.
Is there a particular time of night the "whitening" of the sides begins?

One of my Columbians changes nightly, the other only once in a blue moon, but it's always fun to see the difference.
Here's the young'un day and night...
Tagz in the day
Tagz at night

Mine changes all the time. Depending where he is in his enclosure if he's in a hide he turns bright cause he wants to cool off. But when he's in the open he turns more black to absorb the light cause he wants to warm up
