Well for a 130 gallon take for turtles your going to need a lot more filtration then a 404 fluval. I work on a 30 gallon that has a fluval 404, a whisper 5 and a Magnum 350 (for polishing only) and the tank can still get good and dirty if the turtles are in a bad mood. You should look in to building your own filter with that amount of water. BUT I think the fluval is much better. Used them for years and never had a problem, and they work great.

As an aquarium guy...if your comparing eheims professional vs. the fluval 404 you really can't. The professional series is a far more superior system....and more then twice the money in my area. Fluval systems are great for what your doing as far as ease of operation against cost of the actual product. Ive used single 404's on 150 gallon tanks...but that was fish and i did not have to contend with the amount of waste turtles produce. For me i choose to buy fluvals as they are the easiest to buy parts for in my area....and most stores seem to stock all the different filter media for them...where as eheim stuff is available, just more so select dealers.
