very interesting! I like the articles but the photos of the men walking the hyenas with big chains are kind of sad.

Holy crap Baz...
If someone came at me with a baboon I'm sure I'd throw money at them to go away!

I have sent those pictures (smaller ones however) to many friends - they are very intriguing.
I guess they also fight those animals, against each other.
I talked to an oil and gas guy, who said that he saw not only caged fights between baboons and hyenas, but humans vs baboons and humans vs hyenas - to the death. I would never want to fight either animal, I guess not many people won those fights either.
Thanks for posting the bigger pictures BAZ - I'm saving those!

I think the people in the cage probably had about as much to do with it as the baboons or hyenas... the ones staging it are the ones who need to be punished, not the people who were unable to pay any other way.

I don't think he was saying that there were 'people in cages fighting', I could be wrong but that's not how I read it.

I've heard from someone who claims to have watched - that there are betting matches in cages of hyenas vs baboons.
At the end of the night, there are people vs baboons and people vs hyenas - to the death. It didn't sound to me like these people were volunteering to fight the animals, or usually ever won the matches.
Since the dawn of time, and in every society, people have bet on animals fighting animals (chickens, dogs, fish, dogs on bears, dogs on bulls etc...), and threw people to the animals to watch the fight when that got boring - must just be twisted human pshycology. Damn humans!
