I will be purchasing a young (14") JCP pretty soon here and I have a question. Would I be better off to start with a small Rubbermaid or just build a cage that it can grow into?
I was highly suggested by few not to keep it in an aquarium. As much as I want to id rather play it safe as im new to these as well When I bought him it came with a rubbermaid so I was lucky but try to get one, it will be cheap and save you in the long run. Then build an adult melamine cage, thats what im doing

Yeah you can buy them a nice rubbermaid and it will last them a while, they are not exactly the fastest growing snakes.
The rubbermaid holds in humidity as well so you don't have to mist as often.
