incubation medium
Switching to vermiculite from the moss that I've been using. what is the best ratio of vermiculite to water for egg incubation? Thanks.

2.0 Python reguis, 0.1 Uroplatus henkeli, 1.3 Cyrtodactylus intermedius, 2.4 Pareodura picta (hypo, snow, and striped), 0.1.1 Rhacodactylus cilliatus, and about 35 Eublepharis maccularis (Vegas, tremp, patternless, SHTCT, and more)

50% by volume, I belive that's what it is.
I mix it all up till it's slightly damp (not dripping any water). I forgot how to measure anything along time ago. LOL too many cooks in the family.

Also, are the concerns with asbestos in vermiculite well founded? Should I use pearlite instead? Thanks.

Extremely easy to incubate leo eggs with vermiculite...forget the whole water to vermiculite ratio.
Just throw in the amount of vermiculite you want to use in a bowl of warm water, stir it around, let it sit for a few minutes, so it's nice and soaked. Next grab handfuls of it, and squeeze out all the excess water until absolutely no more water is dripping. Throw it into your egg incubation container, and keep grabbing handfuls and squeezing water out, until you've got enough. Make sure to fill your egg incubation containers 3/4 full with this type of moist medium though, it'll help keep moist for the duration of the eggs term.
It's absolutely the best incubation medium I find.
