Post A small suggestion on posting that will help immensely

Before I explain my little peeve I'll give some examples.

Which subject line is more appealing?

Example 1- Improper shed question
Example 2- Need help

That's a no brainer right?

I hate it when I'm browsing a forum and a sea of *Need helps* and *question* pops up. I don't have time to read through every single post. Something might be of great interest to me but if the subject title is nondescript chances are I won't read it.

Perhaps this gets on my nerves because I'm a former journalism major.

Using more descriptive subject titles will benefit those searching the archives and reduce redundant questions.
Who wants to browse through pages and pages of nondescript titles when they really need advice on their animals care?

THis topic comes up all the time. You will have to change human nature before you get everyone to post better titles.

D'oh! At least I gave it a shot. I'm a bit new here so I apologize for any redundancy. How ironic eh?

I hate post titles like:

"Should I......"

"Is this normal......"

"Tell me everything I need to know about taking care of my snake"

Etc.......

Yes, I'm bitter......

Totally agree, they should have a search engine in each forum so you arent spending time digging through all the posts, plus people could use this search engine to look for thier question before they post. But I guess we need better post titles for this kinda system to work.

possibly a small help would be on the home page to include what forum the 'new' posts are under.

I never noticed the search engine either. Some of the things on this site aren't exactly user friendly either. Example- putting the log in button down at the bottom of the page, and not being able to respond to individual responses, just the thread.

Sorry I just woke up from a nap so I'm a little incoherent. I hope this all makes sense.

You can respond to individual responses privately by pressing the "send pm" button, otherwise you just click on "quote" under the person's picture.
for those that haven't found the search engine yet it's in the lower right corner of the post listing of every forum

I get a kick out of titles in the Classified forums that simply say "for sale". Or in the Wanted forum that says "wanted".... REALLY?!
