cost?

Im thinking of adding to my collection of snakes. I currently have 1 corn snake but i plan to expand to difrent snakes in the future as well. Not all at once but im wondering if i had around 4-6 snakes with heat pads how much would that run my bill a month about?

Just because he asked doesn't mean he's worried. He's trying to inform himself. The question was cluncky at best, but asking how much 6 heat pads may affect your power bill if you have no experience with this stuff does not imply that the asker is worried but that they are trying to inform themselves.

I don't know about up there in canada but I'm in a pretty big 2 bedroom apartment right now that is ALL electric and aside from the lights,TV, heat, AC, stove, and fridge that me and my girlfriend use I have 5 heat pads going for my snakes and 2 100watt bulbs on my dragons and my light bill in the summer is about $30 and in the winter it shoots up to about $80.

Assuming you pay about 7 cents per kilowatt hour, which is what we pay up here, a 100 watt light bulb on 24/7 will cost you, as mentioned, $10/month or so.

Given that heat pads range from 8 watts for the small ones to 25 watts for the big ones, you can run a LOT of them before your bill will skyrocket.
