Should i switch to rats?

I have had my female snake for a long time now and adult mice aren't doing the trick for her she is still thinner then the male I am feedng her twice a week and theirs hardly a lump in her so i am wondering if she would be able to take on rats? I overheard they are healthier too? later doggs!

Rats are usually more nutritous than mice
so if they are able to take it down
do it...
and make sure you have enough $ to feed them as rats are usually more expensive than mice~

well you can get pinky rats which are smaller than adult mice and fuzzies that are just a little bit bigger so i dont think it should be to much trouble unless they are fussy eaters. No personal experience here yet but when my corns are big enough I will be trying them.

I try to get all my snakes eating rats as soon as possible that way i dont have to worry about the switch when they are to big for mice. Sometimes it harder to switch older snakes.

I feed my adult female anery nothing but rats.
Not always this big but only rats.

1 mouse a week just doesn't cut it so I usually go with a 45+ gram rat.

I am going to switch to rats, my female is taking adult mice down like cookies! twice a week and she still looks to skinny thanks for the photos Trevor! love the ghost corn Snake its beautiful!

I feed all of my snakes rats, switched them all over to them when I started breeding my own earlier this year.

All my corns took to the rats without a second thought, they just gulped them down as fast as they would a mouse. I've noticed a difference since feeding them rats over mice, they definitely seem to put on more weight

Yes, switch to rats if possible, but not if it means rat pinkies. Adult mice have more bone structure than rat pinkies or fuzzies, so it would be far better to feed adult mice, even if it takes more than one to d the trick, than it is to feed a rat pinkie or fuzzy. Corns especially, because they have such high metabolisms, need a lot of calcium and a lot of the protein that baby rodents just do not have. If your corn can take weaned rats (also called rat pups in some stores), or small rats, switch. If not, stick to adult mice.
