Toadlet pics!

Here are some of the last pictures that we will have for all of you who have been following our progress with the little ones. We will be getting rid of most of them this week. We know they are a small to be going but at least they will be going to a good home where they will definately be taken care of as we would not be able to right now.

The first picture shows the entire group of them. It is hard to tell but there are 185 toadlets in that rubbermaid. The second one was taken with one of them on my finger so that you could get an idea of their size. I hope you enjoy them.

Bartman: they're firebelly toads
Jeff: We counted them to see our success rate (it's our first time doing this) and to find out just how many we can sell/give away or keep for ourselves.
Plus it's hard to just give an approximation of these little guys....when they were first born we though....OMG There must be 100 little tadpoles there.!!..and then after counting them we realized we had double that.

It's a pretty fun experience! Thanks for all the nice comments everybody.

They don't have the typical colors yet. Though if you look really closely at their bellies you can see that they are starting to turn a cream color. Apparently that is what they look like in the beginning before they get enough beta carotine in their diet to cause it to turn bright orange.

We tried to get a pic of their bellies but none of them came out good enough to show it.
