cage size for JCP

hello all,

I am planning out my setup for a JCP.

I plan to purchase a male hatchling and house him in a 12x12x18 until he outgrows it

can anyone tell me the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM I could COMFORTABLY house a single male specimen

Any replies or input would be greatly appreciated

Are you referring to when it reaches adulthood size or for a hatchling?

Re: cage size for JCP

4X2X2 or 4X2.5X1.5 would be the minimum for an adult Carpet. 12X12X18 won't last long.

Re: cage size for JCP

The absolute minimum I would go is 3x2 of floor space. 4x2 is more ideal, and even bigger than that is better.

I will be housing all my adults in APt-10's which are 4x2x15".

Re: cage size for JCP

I recmend bare minimum 4 foot long, 2 foot wide and 2 tall. I was unhappy with that measurement myself and built my cage 30" wide. Remember, these are tree snakes, climbing is important for them.
