Naming
First of all Hi! First time posting here.
I got my first snake today, a beautiful columbian rainbow/brazilian rainbow mix, the result of a female columbian had seemed impossible to breed and was kept with a male brazilian for a while when she suddenly decided it was time! Because I know these are not normally considered beginner snakes let me just say now, I have done lots of research and have worked with lots of snakes over the last few years
Anyway, I am trying to decide what to name this new baby! It appears to be a boy (no official probing yet, I'd rather wait til he's older, if ever) I am open to suggestion but would also like some input on some ideas I've got already. So far I am thinking Loki, Khan, Atticus, Jarvis, Barbosa, or Seneca.

Re: Naming
Khan was one of the names I was considering for my snake when I first got him.

Re: Naming
If you spell it Kaan then it was one of the Mayan kings which would give you a reference to the part of the world your snake originated from. Just a thought...

Re: Naming
Hello and welcome! I'd love to see a picture when you can! I like the names Khan and Seneca. Also Atticus, since I have one named that!

Re: Naming
I went with Atticus it just seemed to fit best, although sometimes I call him Atticus Khan.

Re: Naming
Very nice, like the name too. I was looking at rainbows, almost got a pair. Finally decided on Dominican Red Mountain Boas though, a bit easier to maintain proper conditions. Got a pair of yearlings, now debating over a second pair from a different breeder to mix the bloodlines when they mature and start breeding.

Re: Naming
Welcome to the forum! Nice snake, and great choice of name.
Where was he produced? Kudos to the breeder for disclosing the mixed genetics...I always worry hybrids will get accidentally bred into the pure lines through nondisclosure...

Re: Naming
I got him at the Boise Idaho repticon this weekend. She was very open about the mixed breeding and had the parents there with her, both gorgeous snakes she could easily have passed them off as colombians with their coloring but was very honest.

Re: Naming
Cool, didn't know you are kind of a neighbor! Although I wasn't at the Boise Repticon and have never made it over to the one there. Sounds like they will be canceling that show though.
