Lots of talent there, no doubt about that. Cloutier has his moments but still hasn't earned my vote as of yet. Potvin's starting to prove himself again and Thibeau's ranked up there aswell.

man the leaf fans are really confident here....especially with belfour in net. He is a bum...not to mention there captain who played what like five games in the playoffs last year...I am not a leaf fan being from edmonton but gotta love the wings led by a real captain who will do anything to win...And go OIL (a guy can have 2 teams to cheer for...as long as they never meet in the playoffs)

Jamie, Sundin didnt play much in the playoffs do to a broken hand. Can you blame the guy? As for Belfour being a bum, i guess Vezina's, Jennings, The Calder and a Stanley Cup ring mean nothing. Detroit has a real captain? If he's so real why is it that he might retire do to pain?

Patrick Roy is a cry baby... he didnt want to play on the olympic team beacause he knew he would be playing backup goalie. IMHO he is past his prime the same as belfour. Both of them have accomplished alot, but there i feel both are now pretty much obsolete.

Phillip: I have a friend who played professional hockey in Alabama, he played for Birmingham, ever get out to any games? Apparently its pretty good hockey down there.
Jeff: I hear ya when it comes to Roy, but as for Belfour, he has something to prove this season, was last season due to his relationship with coach Hitchcock? Or was it just the way he plays now. Time will tell. If the Belfour of the past shows up for Toronto this year, then consider that a great payoff for Toronto. As for the Olympics, Brodeur was the best goalie invited to camp and there never should have been a question as to whether he would play or not.

Just for arguments sake, Patrick Roy has played 966 games in his career with 61 SO's. Ed Belfour has played 735 games with 58 SO's in his career. Lets not forget Belfour played with Chicago through some bad teams and San Jose before they started winning. Broduer has played 592 games and has 55 SO's. Suddenly Mr. Roy doesn't look so spectacular to me. Don't get me wrong, he's a hell of a goaltender but the best ever? Not in mind. Terry Sawchuk!!!!..

Inked...all I got to say is that sundin did get hurt...but its the playoffs, in the past guys have played with broken bones and led there teams. Ya yzerman might retire due to pain but with how many rings? You have to lead your team and inspire them by example, not watch from the press box. And belfour with kidd as a backup. We will see at the end of the season how the goals against add up. Cujo took a paycut to play for a winning team

I'm not saying that Yzerman is any less of a leader cause he may retire. But lets remember, Yzerman didnt win the cup alone. Hasek stole how many games for Detroit? As for Sundin, he has always been a questionable leader, i for one think that Roberts should be given the 'C'. But lets also not forget that Toronto did play most of the playoffs with the Farm Team. Still, no excuses, they had a good season and a very suprising post season, it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if they stayed healthy.. If Belfour and Kidd can play up to their potential, goals against will not be an issue.. i hope.

Ok I will give credit where credit is due...Roberts was the heart of that team in the post season, if you can call it a team since most guys were infact called up. In the east I was going for any canadian team but wanted so bad for toronto to make it in. I have to many friends and family who love toronto so i am like the black sheep of the group. Every toronto/detroit game last year was followed closly so the next day there could be some bragging and I have the idea that there will be some more bragging on this forum for me this season. GO WINGS
May the best team win
