regrettably, the people who passed and enforce these laws don't know, nor do they care about these. If you have retics or burms, its all the same to them, whether they grow to 6 ft or 16 ft, they don't care.

Re: Not quite giants, but..

OP, you have some amazing looking animals. I recognize them from another forum I'm on and I maintain what I said over there, they're stunning.

Sadly, I'm well aware of this.

I love BRBs! I've got a pair and they just glow! That said, retics have some really impressive iridescence too, some of the morphs glow nearly as nicely as BRBs. There are some great BRB keepers/breeders on this forum.

Re: Not quite giants, but..

That's it. This thread pushed me to FINALLY apply for my "Conditional Species Permit" for the state of Florida. I've been putting it off for so long because I really don't want to have an FWC officer traipsing around my snake room to get the approval, but it's easier than moving to a different state.

Congrats! Keep us posted and best of luck! Any idea what species you want to get if you get approval?

I'm really looking for pure SuperDwarf retics, and I also want to get a few molurus progschai (Dwarf tiger python/Dwarf Burm). I want to work on a breeding program with them because I LOVE the look of the big guys, but I also like being able to take them out for cage cleaning without a team behind me.

Re: Not quite giants, but..

Ha ha, that's EXACTLY my position. I just wish my P. m. progschai wasn't so defensive, cleaning is... interesting... lol. Where are you located? I know people who have both species all across the country, I'll see if I know someone in your area.

I'm in sunny Daytona Beach. Like I said, I still have to wait for my license to come in, but any names and contact info would be greatly appreciated!
