Re: Advice from morons
what is that advice I don't even. How would rubbing a snake and putting your hand close to its face help calm it down?

Re: Advice from morons
I tried it when I went to get my ball python out, he was much more startled with that method, usually I touch his sides to wake him up and then grab the lower body.
With a blood, I think the snake's reaction would be much worse.

This is not a 'method', it's an exercise in stupidity - plain and simple.

Re: Advice from morons
Then let me reword that. 'With that exercise in stupidity, he was much more startled than usual.'

Now I've been keeping boids for 25 years and I've seen and hear a lot of foolish things, but this could well be the stupidest thing I've *ever* heard...
"What you need to do it calm them down by rubbing starting from the tail to the head them have your hand in front of there eyes about 1 inched away and then pick him him up."
That's like 10 kinds of stupid. I mean, honestly! LOL

or you could just give the blood thats in a bad mood a stern talking to,i think that will work just as good as the above advice mate
cheers shaun

Re: Advice from morons
I find hosing them down with cold water (like angry dogs) then follow it with shaking my fingers close to thier face (cause they cant see too well) and giving them a good stern talking to usually works. If not I give them a time out....

+1. That technique also works well with my Baboon tarantulas
