Not too many places carry it. You can order it online. Amazon has some great prices. People have a bad attitude in general about "just" fish.
There's a lot more to bettas than people think. They have a bad reputation for being "boring." You'd be pretty boring if you lived in a closet, too. My last betta lived 9 years and 3 months. That's not typical, but it's not unheard of. Their lifespans are far greater when they're treated properly.
