Out of all of my daughters snakes, the ball pythons are my favorite. Don't get me wrong but I love all of them but the balls are really fun.
I've been bitten by black rat snakes, garter snakes, something I'm still not sure what it was to this day, but no fangs. LOL. I've yet to be bitten by our ball pythons. (knock on wood).
As has been said above, they're really laid back and friendly. Ours actually prefer the company of people rather than being left alone. We walk in the room and all three of them will usually come out to greet us and wait to come out to be handled.
Truth be told, I fear our 17 inch garter snake over all of our other snakes. She's a wild caught rescue. She was injured when we caught her and she's got some kind of attitude. She's settled down and has become a wonderful pet. I have to help her with her shed sometimes due to her injury.
Our two little ball pythons are 24 and 27 inches long. Our big one is 48 to 50 inches long.
