To answer your question, the yellow is definitely different from any normal macklotts python, so breeding it would be the only way to tell if its a new genetic morph or not. I don't see how hybridising would cause a colour change like that, so I'd reckon its a mutation of some sort, just not sure if its a genetically inheritable one.
