I understand that but that looks to be about four inches above the uth. You will also be getting a reading from the Rhp. Is the uth and Rhp womas two separate thermostats?

correct, it would be at least four inches above you UTH, maybe more. It would be sitting above the UTH and below the RHP. The UTH and RHP are both hooked to the same thermostat.

My guess is that you would get your reading only from the Rhp. The ground temp will probably not affect the probe that far off the ground and on top of the hide. I would be worries about the uth because in reality that probe will not have be regulating it very well.

should i just lay the probe on top of the aspen, and stick it in the back corner?
