First time snake owner, looking for help! - Page 22

I bleached everything it came with..still ok to keep?
And this stuff is a brick, says its all natural cocoanut, not ok to mix it with aspen? aspen is what i am using now but i have 2 sealed packs of the "dirt" and dont want to just throw then out.

Because corns dont need the added humidity i would just keep the "bricks" until you get your next snake - chances are it will be a BP and then it will need the extra moisture

But first i need to get my $*** together with learning things with bella. shes confusing and supsta be the easiest snake i must be ******** haha! i just want to handle her, but i THINK she was going into shed, now she looks normal and hasnt shed yet so i am not to sure what to do. i was asking alessia questions but shes not replying so i think she got annoyed with me haha! i wouldnt blame her! now is bellas having issues shedding is there anything i can do, she does not seem to like the moss, or her pool....the previous owners did give her baths and said she loved them, but then again they didnt seem to know much either...

ANOTHER QUESTION! LOL

Bella "yawned" or opened her mouth as wide as she could, i caught her doing that the day right before i fed her last time, does this mean shes hungry or accualy yawning lol i skipped feedin yesterday, and now to sure if i should have cause it does not seem like she is ready to shed yet i didnt even try to feed her i thought id leave her alone. she is out of her hide and exploring a bit today does this mean she might be feeling better? should i try to feed her today??

As long as she isnt doing it a lot (mouth breathing)

she's probably just resetting her jaw, they do it from time to time.. its really cute when colubrids yawn :P

you can try feeding her, my snake will feed whenever i put food near him, she might not care if shes in shed, if thats the case.. no big deal, the big thing is a lot of snakes wont like to feed while in shed and then you just wasted a mouse for no reason (refreezing is a debatable practice which i avoid)

Im 2 days late on feeding her, should i feed her still? it wont screw her up? then ill just feed her 2 saterdays from now? mice are so not expencive im not worried.

And it was, it was adorable. i caught her opening her mouth REALLY wide last feeding day, and then today. and i cought her "open mouth breathing"( mouth was hardly open but enough for me to see) twice just the other day. havnt seen her do that again....

Keep ur tank at 75-80 would be the best temp.. i would say just use a 75 watt bulb on during the day and off at night to simulate real days for her. water temp for her bath isnt as big of deal try to use around room temp but dont bath her all the time once a month would be fine u dont want to stress her out. hope this helps and good luck with u new girl

I love seeing my snakes yawning. As long as they don't do it a bunch there's nothing wrong with it.
