Re: Leucistic Ball python

^^ Give it a couple years

I've wanted a BEL ever since I laid eyes on one many years ago!!!

You always have to be prepared for the unexpected...you may be able to afford the snake, food and its home, but what if you need to take it to the vet? Is your "nest-egg" obsolete from buying one of these beauties? If you have the financial capacity to buy the snake, home, food and money left over for unexpected occurrences, by all means GET IT!

But if not, the wait will be well worth it my friend....just my $0.02 though.

Re: Leucistic Ball python

could technically afford to buy and house and feed 5-6 of em to give you an idea of the nest egg size...

I am confident i could afford it in every way, im just having a hard time talking myself out of what i know is right now at least a fiscally irresponsible purchase

its kinda like when buying a car sure you can afford the Ferrari, but why buy it when you work an average job and a Toyota would do yah fine....

But its a ****ing Ferrari!

Re: Leucistic Ball python

I see. A fiscal-morality-like issue?!

Hmmm...When I bought my last car, I could have easily afforded the base model or the luxury edition. The luxury version had some added perks: a 6-speed manual transmission, about 100 extra ponies and an additional 75 lb-ft of torque to the wheels, not to mention the sleeker front/rear bumpers, head/tail lights, and double-dual exhaust....drooooooool

Guess which one I'm driving....the base model! And I'm as happy as the guy in the luxury version!

There are wants and there are needs. If you've convinced yourself that you need the Ferrari, then nothing that anyone says to you, including yourself, will change your mind.

If however, you REALLY REALLY REALLY want the Ferrari, then you might be better off resisting the temptation (I know, EXTREMELY difficult!). Not always, but sometimes, good things come in due time. The anticipation can also heighten excitement and appreciation.

Again, just my 2 cents. I've been in college, by choice, for 8 years. I've made a lot of sacrifices, passed up a lot of opportunities, and have lived modestly. However, I truly believe that good things will come when I finish with school. They may or they may not, but I like to stay optimistic!

Re: Leucistic Ball python

Not a problem! I'm glad that I could lend a hand.....trust me, I've made my fair share of poor decisions...but, I learned from them.

Before you know it, the day will come when you get your Ferrari, and you will be happier than ever!

It is a shame with the carpets......there are albino carpets though! And they are GORGEOUS! (Perfect analog....I could afford an Albino carpet, but that's probably not the best idea at this time!!! Someday, someday...)

its a shame leucy is fatal in carpets...

theres a guy called rolph mikelson in europe introducing bredl blood into the genetics re leucy carpets

he's hoping the bredl are sufficiantley different enough from carpets to strengthen the leucy's allowing survival

there is currently some disagreement going on between morelia keepers as to the specific or sub specific status of this snake

some saying its a regional sub species of carpet python

others its a species of its own

a leucistic carpet would be a very nice looking snake imo

as for your ball python your emotional desires will eventually give you the answer

you will either buy one or you wont

rememember pictures if you do

cheers shaun
