Lightbulb Keeping eggs, slurry and teenagers

I'll start with the obvious gecko related subject: just moved everyone from a 29 to 55 gal tank over the weekend, including my smaller girl, Molly - she's grown enough to be safe with the others, esp. in the bigger environment. Fortunately , that leaves me with Molly's old "home", so I now have a place to incubate gecko eggs for the very first time! I'm really excited - my first layer should be the Morrigan, and I believe Macha is gravid, also - hopefully everything will turn out - have to look for some adoptive homes in advance .

The non-gecko related subject (well, sort of) - was making some fresh slurry today and put some of every insect I had in it (silkies, waxies, mealies, supers, crix) along w/a little strawberry Ensure...so my 20 year old son says "how much will you give me if i eat some of that?" Thought he was joking , said "$50!" He didn't think I'd call his bluff, so he started chickening on me - then my 17 year old says "$50??? Gimme some!" I gave him about 1/2 tsp - he slurped it right down!!!!! Said the slurry didn't taste as bad as the Ensure itself, just a little "gritty in his throat"!

So, now I'm out $50, and the older boy's drooling for his $50....after about a half-hour, he eats his 1/2 tsp of slurry! Now I'm out $100!!!!

It was worth the money, tho - all 3 of us laughed til we choked, felt like "Fear Factor" or something - and I think I have at least 2 sons who might have a future as circus geeks or something similar...on the other hand, my 15 yr old was asleep, and when he wakes up in the morning, he's going to hear about what a soft touch mom is, and that kid will do ANYTHING on a dare, no $$$$ needed, so I think I'm going to have to make an emergency trip to the bank tomorrow.....

I'm just hoping the youngest doesn't ask "how much will you give me if I eat one of your geckos ?"
