Heads up, Long story! A few months ago I decided I had gone too far, I simply had too many snakes at 14 (excl rescues). Even though I used to keep 40+ adults, that was just a very different time of life for me. It took me so much time to clean/care for them the way I really wanted, it felt like a chore and not a fun hobby, hadnt held one for fun in ages. So I sold off my recovered rescues and stopped taking in new ones. And also decided to part with my dwarf boas since I found someone who truly loved them as much as I do, maybe even more.(And I get spammed with updates).. And was down to 9 snakes, 4 Retics, 2 burms, 2 boas and a hognose. Still a bit much, as I promised myself I'd keep it at 8 tops. I coulndt decide what to sell because I really did love every single snake I had. Although.. One of my retics, Misa the Selayer. Was a lunatic at best, only a bit bity on her best days. But rolling around like a toothy tumbleweed on her worst, always requiring all hands on deck of atleast 2 people. So I was looking into rehoming her, as she takes about as much time to care for as the other 8 did together. Not only that but she is quite heavy and hard to deal with, and I was kind of at a loss what to do with her during the later stages of pregnancy as she requires 2 experienced handlers. My other giants are heavy too but have the kind of disposition that I can guide and someone else can lift, without expected major issues even if they're not thát experienced.. Her finding a different home would liberate me more than it gave me heartache, so I went searching. Nobody seemed qualified, she has spooked a lot of ppl too haha. One guy almost cried... I got one offer from a breeder I befriended, bc he could use her as a breeder. But he wasn't in the market for buying yet until he had sold more of his offspring from previous years, but I was free to trade for something. Since I had been looking for a new home for a while and this seemed like a great one that could deal with her (He has tons of adult retics / anacondas / afrocks etc). I was considering a trade, if anything I would have an easier snake to deal with. And not necessarily a permanent addition. But then the following was taking place. Without going into too much detail, the female burm I had bought earlier had a ton of issues. A) It was a male, B) it had mites. C) it had been weaned on live asfs which I have 0 access to. Long story short, (S)he is back to the breeder, I would have gotten him to eat eventually. But I didn't want 2 males and the fun had kinda died... So.. Looking through the breeders selling list, he was selling a Gorgeous female burm. Same age as my boy, good disposition. And from a very small breeding line, which is fun because my male is on the smaller end of "normal" too. Anyway, I traded Misa for this "lill" lady. She's a Pearl, with perhaps some hidden genes I may or may not prove out at some point. Either way im quite pleased with how everything has worked out. For now this girl is number 8 so might just consider her a permanent resident, as she's my only female burm now.
She is still nameless as of now, but I'll think of something!
Flash photo inside, sorry no resizing I am still without acces to a pc. I hope this works, first time using imgur!
Put the tub outside in the sunshine for a better look, I almost needed sunglasses. She is very bright!
Bit of a closeup of her head, she has cute white speckles!
She's definitely not a baby, she's an estimated 8,5ft but I didnt want to bother her anymore so didn't measure or stretch her out. She had a loong trip already.
Thanks for reading / looking.
