My first retic

I just picked up my first ever retic...a dwarf sunfire. He is a gorgeous snake and retics have my favorite pattern outside of a gaboon viper. I got the dwarf (and a male at that) because I don't want a snake bigger than 10 feet (that's the limit of what I could handle). Hope the pic shows

Re: My first retic

Sweet looking snake. Look forward to more pics in better lighting to showcase his colours. I like the bold pattern and dark lines.

Re: My first retic

Will it stay under 10ft tho? Jamps apparently hit between 10-12ft

Re: My first retic

Thanks everyone. I can't say for sure about the size because I'm no expert when it comes to retics. I just heard the dwarfs max out at around 11-12 feet and if it's a male you can subtract a couple more feet from that. Guess if I wake up one day and it's 11 feet long and hungry I'm in for more snake than I bargained for

Re: My first retic

Congrats on the new edition! I will one day have a super dwarf retic to join the family. Love their eyes! Looks like you got a real stunner too!

Re: My first retic

I know I love the eyes which was a major selling point to me. I got a sumatran short tail and this snake (not at the same time) because I absolutely love those bright orange serial killer eyes. Watching their pupils flit around looking at their surroundings is really cool

Re: My first retic

Majestic looking animal! I wonder if he is doing a calculation in this picture bc I know they are very intelligent. Good luck.

Re: My first retic

Very nice retic. I would be prepared for it to potentially hit over 10 ft. Some dwarf locales get well over that and I think sunfire is a mainland morph, meaning yours has mainland genetics. Do you know what percentage dwarf he is?

Re: My first retic

So long as it stays close. I just don't want a 18 foot snake. I would have a hard time with such an animal. Here is a video of him.....

Re: My first retic

Very nice retic , i hope he stays within limit for you. The largest male dwarf i've had (100%dwarf) was still almost 14 feet.

Re: My first retic

Very nice dwarf sunfire! Since it's a male he should top out around 10ft if not a bit less. Congrats and welcome to the retic family!
