as sick as it sounds i love the smell of decaying things. Everything that dies smells different and its so unique. If he smells that bad maybe an abscess? They can smell down right like the pit of hell itself or in the very least the lou after lucifer gets done eating a mexican buffet. See if you can find any puss in there. Abscesses are kinda sorta easy to spot, most easy if you have seen it. If it were me i would sniff until i found the worst smelling spot and then dig around in there.

If you're looking for abscesses, wear goggles! Nothing like seeing people doing the matrix to avoid a puss stream flying across the room....
Smells can be very helpful. If it's been in the fridge since Wednesday it shouldn't smell like that, unless it's possible it was dead for hours before you found it.

Re: Home Grown Necropsy...**GRAPHIC PICTURES**
have you checked his intestines fully? Just cut straight down and look on the walls there, if its right before his vent look real good in the muscles there. There is something wrong there but idk how to help you find it

No, cause my friends (who had him at the time) had him out, and that's when they got worried because of how lethargic he was.

Re: Home Grown Necropsy...**GRAPHIC PICTURES**
yeah, you can see the kidneys in the intestine pic. Imma go back out and see what I can find. I'll keep an eye out for abscesses, and put my goggles on!

when you open up the kidneys smell them and see if its worse or about the same and if its about the same then move on to the next thing because if it is coming from something you will know it. Found an abscess once in a horses mouth. It was most foul. If I remember correctly, reptiles when they abscess they dont usually get really liquidy stuff rather they get a more cottage cheese type pus. Either way dont get it in your mouth its horrible

if you can try and cut a kidney to get a section to look at, here is a useful link I found

Re: Home Grown Necropsy...**GRAPHIC PICTURES**
okay, kidney's are good. take a look at these pics though...his intestines are weird
They're pink and pretty up top, then they just go black, as seen...there was also a weird lump thing at the base of the stomach, right before the intestines. it's the little black ball. it was just filled with fluid.
This is where i pulled the 'thing' off
the 'thing' next to the kidney (I know, thing isn't very descriptive...but i can't find what it would be...his stomach was big and pink, with this at the base)
