Orange/Yellow Leatherback
I picked this little girl up at the Etobicoke Reptile Expo this weekend. She's a cutie although she has me concerned... She's biting the rocks in her enclosure.
Here she's preparing to bite the basking rock...

Re: Orange/Yellow Leatherback
I wouldn't be concerned, it could be that she is missing a little calcium. When my beardie was small he would lick the rock to pick up fallen calcium powder

Re: Orange/Yellow Leatherback
She's not licking or nipping, she's full on chomping down. Teeth grinding and all. I really hope she grows out of it.

Re: Orange/Yellow Leatherback
I contacted the breeder and she thought it was odd as well. lol
If she keeps it up, I'll have to remove the rocks for now. So far she's stopped biting them and I hope it stays that way.

Re: Orange/Yellow Leatherback
Thanks. She's guzzled down a few crickets and some dandelion so far. Hopefully he finds all that tastier than rocks...

Re: Orange/Yellow Leatherback
Very nice. I could not find one so that's great.
When we rescued BamBam he tasted everything in his new enclosure. Now he saves it for food. He had only ever had that pellet beardie food. Should have seen him when I made him a dandelion/squash/carrot salad. Lets just say he got a great dose of calcium. I powder veggies and not bugs. This is a gift right?

Re: Orange/Yellow Leatherback
You know what... I'm not entirely sure. I've sent the breeder an email asking.
In the meantime, another photo of her...

Re: Orange/Yellow Leatherback
My guess is 2 months. She is very pretty. I am jealous! How much does she weigh?

Re: Orange/Yellow Leatherback
Again, I'm not sure. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of batteries my reptile scale takes...
