My falsie died today :(...
I only had her for 3 weeks, I don't know what could have happened, she was seemingly healthy from the day I got her up to yesterday. I took her out for a handling secession yesterday which I did every day and other than being a little more active than she normally which I attributed to being hungry nothing seemed out of the ordinary, I did try to feed her but she refused, her last feeding was 6 days ago, I assumed she was nearing shed so thought nothing of it. I went to take her out today to get a look at her, she was in her hide, I hooked her and knew immediately she was dead from her being stiff from rigor mortis.
I'm so confused as to what could have happened, the temps in the mid 80's in the day dropping to 75 at night, humidity 65%, clean water bowl changed daily. I was feeding her every 5 days scenting pinkies with feeder fish, other than yesterday she ate with no hesitation.
She was such a sweetheart, she had such a calm demeanor, accepted being free handled with no problems, she would usually rest her head on my hand looking straight at me, I felt so lucky having such a calm fwc considering the norm of babies, I could even pet her head with no reaction other than tongue flicking from her. I looked forward every day to coming home from work to spend some time with her, I was really looking forward to seeing her become a gentle giant one day.
I've kept more reptiles than I could count in the last 20 years and never had a untimely death like this, this really scarred me as I keep replaying every day since I got her trying to think of something I did wrong that could have led to this. I'm going to miss her.

Re: My falsie daid today :(...
I'm sorry for your loss I don't know what it could've been but it's always hard to lose a pet.

Thanks alessia.
Here she was in her typical posture, this was taken about 2 weeks ago, she actually grew some since this.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
What kind of fish were you scenting with?
Some contain toxins.

I was scenting with rosie reds. Just put a few in a dry cup and mixed the pinkie over them.

Sorry for your loss man. My first BP died just a couple days after I brought it home from the pet shop. I gave it the proper care so im assuming it had something to do with the pet shop. Maybe thats the same case here.

Aw this sucks! I am terribly sorry. It's always hard when you don't know what happened but don't allow it to make you doubt yourself. Sometimes we just get nasty curve balls.

Oh that's awful! I am so sorry for your loss. It's never easy to lose a pet, no matter how recently or long ago you've obtained it.
