Breeder info
Hi Everybody,
As some of you know I am looking at adding a few new ball pythons to my collection. I found an ad in the classifieds on this forum and replied to it. I am very interested in purchasing some snakes from this person, but before taking that step and spending what for me is a considerable amount of money, I would like to know if anybody on this forum has had experience with this breeder and if they have a sound reputation. Could anybody give me some feedback on this breeder? Healthy snakes etc? This is not to suggest he is not what he says he is, this is just wondering if anybody has anything to add about this guy that would give me some peace of mind. (trying to do my research first)
Royal Python Ranch
thank you!
Kendra

Re: Breeder info
Ok just make sure you do your research, a reputable breaded will have some good testimonials out there somewhat. Hetrozygous means that the snake carries the gene, but does not show it. Be careful but im sure royal ranch will be fine, how much does he / or she cost

Re: Breeder info
He said that he will give them both to me for $425. Both clutches have the same father, but different mothers and the mothers are not related. He said they are established eaters and that when I'm ready I can go pick out the ones that I want. At first he said I could pick from the pictures on the site (because everything is in his house) but I made it very clear that I must see everything I buy in person before agreeing to it and then he said that I could show up in person and choose the ones I want.
He is saying that they are 100% het piebalds
Are there other questions I should be asking?

Re: Breeder info
you could ask to see the mothers and father but he may not have them, It will al come down to how honest this guy is. I also dont purchase snakes of the net without seeing them first (with the exception of you ) That's a good price for 2 are you planning on breading in the future

Re: Breeder info
I am toying with the idea of breeding so I am trying to make sure that with the snakes I get it will work out if i do decide to breed. Ok, I will definitely ask if he has the parents available to look at while I'm there. thanks for the tip, I hadn't even thought of that

Re: Breeder info
His reply:
Are the parents on site/would I be able to see them when I make arrangements to come see the het pieds for sale? Yes all the parents are here.
Are they eating F/T or live? Frozen/thawed
how often and what size? Every 7 days and they are ray pups or hoppers. Depends on the snake you choose
Are they good, reliable eaters? Yes
Have there been any health issues in the past with any of the snakes we are discussing (even parents), Respiratory infections etc? No none
