Question Can they go blind or get eye damage?

I was just wondering that if a snake eyes were to go to close to a heat lamp could they get eye damage or even worse go blind. My snake when he is awake during the day will crawl all over his cage and put his face really close to the bottom of the heat (Don't worry its on the outside of the cage so there is no contact between the snake and the boiling lava hot heat bulb lol). I'm thinking this from the myth my mom would tell me that if you starred at the sun to long you would go blind and i don't even know if this is true or just a lie.

Re: Can they go blind or get eye damage?

If you stare at the sun too long without proper eye protection your eyes will be damaged yes. A snake being a creature of instinct is not likely to ever do so as instinct dictates NOT to stare at it. Mark
