i know that antihill pythons, which are closely related, lay only 2-6 eggs, so i assume it would be similar (maybe a few more since anthills are smaller).

Spotteds routinely lay 15-20 (although Barker book says max of 18, the sample was 30 clutches). I'm not sure why you think what Anthills lay would make Spotteds and Children's the same. Childrens is about a dozen or so (12.5 average from the Barker book, 1994).

Get your females good and large before their first breeding and they'll have MORE eggs.

I have bred Spotted Pythons for three years. My clutch sizes range from 11-19 eggs. I incubate my Spotted eggs at 86 degrees and get a 100% hatch rate.........then comes gettin them eating...FUN!!!!!!

Anywhere from 85-90 F. In 2003 my CP laid 11 April 1. In 2004 she laid 14 April 28. This year I was surprised she laid ? (haven't taken them yet) last night/this Am. Breeding takes place anytime between say Xmas & now. I have another female that just started breeding a couple weeks back. Mark

Cheers!

I've been breeding both for a great many years, back 2 latin names to when they were all considered Liasis childreni.
My experience is much the same as what the others have posted. Young females might only have a dozen or so, their first year(when they are about 3) but 20 is quite common in older girls, and I think I've had a few clutches of 23, that included a couple slugs above that, so I suspect thirty might be the maximum limit.

Gravid females always lay inverted for a few weeks prior to egg laying, and that is always a good sign. Here's a few assorted pics of childreni and maculosis

Is humidity crutial for Antaresia? I'm getting a surprise lay from one of my females at this very moment and don't have the incubator set up yet. There was no inverted basking that I saw. Right now she has 9 eggs out and it looks like at least 3 still in.

Thanks,
Cam
