Our Eastern box turtle is named Bob. My daughter named him because when we first got him he bobbed his head alot when frieghtened. Now he is used of us, her more as she plays with him more than I do. And she goes around the house with him singing "Bob, the boxier, he can box!" to the tune of Bob the builder. lol, it's too funny! Just had to share that.

My Box is named Verena. I watch movies with her; she always falls asleep, though.

Another interesting point that I have witnessed is that they don't grow very fast either.. I by no means starve my animals, but I have 4 alligator snappers that are all over 3 years old and only around 3" or so.. I raised 1 of these from a hatchling, and friends of mine had the other 3. I would have thought they'd grow very large very fast judging by their adult size.
