New project starting - WLP * pics *

New guy in the house.

It's our first ever WLP.

Pretty mean boy, but doesn't take away from it' s beauty.

I finally decided to put on gloves but I hope to take them off really soon. I think we really need to get to know each other a little better.

** looking for a female now **

Dont mean to sound like im having a go, but those gloves really aint gonna protect you if he lashes out. Just makes it feel better in your head though dont it. I sometimes put on gloves when im picking up my rat snake, cos he is a bit feisty, but then i sit and think, well they aint gonna help much if he does bite me anyway. Sorry im rambling. Im going now!!

Regards

Adam

Nice snake! It's good to see that white lips are getting a little more popular.

I can't wait till my two boys are big enough to breed to my big girl.

BTW, the odd time that I have used gloves for my big female, she didn't really try to bite my hands.

Congrats on the new addition to the addiction

Do they ever calm down or are they always nasty?
I like them but I have no interest in snakes that are always nasty, ATBs and GTPs not withstanding.
Cheers,
Trevor

Justin,

a recent thread by Stav talked about snakes size for breeding.

One good thing I remember about that subject is that even a young male can breed. If i were you I'd try them out. Especialy that you have in hand a big female, you really don't have anything to lose.

good point. I guess it cannot hurt! from what i've just read, males should be about 4' to breed.. time to take out the tape measure!

I gotta get in contact with that german guy who breeds them and ask him all about it! www.leiopython.de has some good links

EDIT: my one "friendly" guy clears the 4' mark! WOO HOO!

forgive the look on my face, i'm not stoned.. i'm just not a morning person or very photogenic.
