Yup, my Ball python rubbermaids are 6" high and they work just fine. They don't necessarily need "climbing" space.

Height is not as important as the length or floor space that the adult ball has. A bare minimum would be 3' for an adult female in my opinion.

Crazy, what's the model number of those rubbermaids? I don't believe there is a rubbermaid that is 4 feet.

Just a reminder. The nominal dimensions of these boxes are not the useable-by-the-animal dimensions. The manufacturer’s stated dimensions are always at the widest (=lid) point. The floor area may be easily 15-25% less than we assume. Just judging by a photo, I’ll guess the floor area of that model 2218 is at least 25% less than the stated size (6.122 x 34.28 x 16.673 in). FWIW.

Good point, although the sides on that particular rubbermaid are sloped at the bottom, which is completely usable for your ball, as they themselves are not square, and can nestle nicely into the slopes. You get a lot of usage from that particular rubbermaid. In fact, the inside dimensions are 14.25 x 31.5 x 6. One of the best sizes for an adult ball in my opinion.

Rubbermaid #5334 are those dimensions as well. They are in Canada, #2218 is not.

I don't have one to measure. But going by your information, that would be 23% less floor area than the nominal dimensions would suggest. That is significant IMO. Whether it is meaningful to a particular user is a different matter.
