Help, first escaped snake.

I had two young corns housed in this thing. It worked fine for my young BRB's but one corn found that the gap was big enough to slip through, funny how I thought other wise.

I've put out 4 pinkies inside small hide boxes spread around the room. I'm hoping to find him in one when I get home Saturday night. I sprinkled the room with baby powder hoping to pick up the trail. I also placed a water bowl at each end of the room. I'm confident that the room is sealed. Any other thoughts or tips?
Thanks,
Trevor

make sure that your door crevace and the floor heat duct are sealed.......seems to be where most escapees disappear into.

Sorry to hear that Trever,

You can also hang a heat lamp above the hide.

Good Luck
Brian

Look in boxes that have holes in them. That's where we found the Leo that escaped.

Heat Wave heat pad taped to the back. Snake was found in the closet at the end of the herp room stuck to a piece of packing tape! I got it off and all seems well so far. I just found it a few hours ago.
Thanks,
Trevor

I had a whites tree frog escape for over 2 weeks after turning my whole room upside down and serching the whole house I gave up, 2 weeks later our cat took a keen notice to our flood drain in the basement and right away I thought there he is. We never used the drain for anything so he wasn't to bad off I pulled him out and he looked really bright and fine for the most part I pulled some hair that was stuck around his limbs and he was fine. I thought he would be dried up somewhere after walking on carpet and through dust I was pleasently surprised

I had a juvenille BRB escape that was nearly 4'... Not to put a damper on your search but i never found the brb... This was months ago... My parents cat got a urinary tract infection a few weeks later.. this isnt nice to say but that cat is like 35 pounds... I wouldnt doubt it if he ate it and caused the urinary tract problem....

Gross! Well the room is sealed, and the closet where the snake was found is now sealed too and the cat never, ever goes into the snake room.
Cheers,
Trevor

Yes it is a good idea to keep the cat out of the snake room.If you keep small snakes the cat could kill them,or if you keep big snakes the cat could be killed not a nice situation anyway you look at it.

Same with rats, cats make it easy to find them too.
