I see numbers all over the map, but in your experience how long do they live? Mine turned 15 years old a month ago and shows no signs of slowing down. Thank you in advance.
Re: Realistic life span of Kenya Sand Boa? (Past 15!)
I can't help with giving you a definitive number for a life span. I just wanted to chime in and say that's awesome that yours is 15 and going strong!!
I have only had my KSB for about 3 months. They were never a species I had much interest in. But then I met my little guy and fell in love. I was picking up a BP from a gentleman looking to re-home both his snakes. I planned on only taking the BP, but when I met the little guy I couldn't say no. They're such little cuties!

Same here, I didn't go looking for a sand boa but when I saw her I immediately fell for her. Glad I did, 15 years of perfect docile temperament. I love their stocky shape and happy face. Of course the fact they burrow like tremors is cool too.

Hahahaha, yup!! Watching him burrow when I put him back in his enclosure still fascinates me.
He graduated quarantine a few weeks ago, so I snapped some pics with him and my Hognose together. What an adorable little pair. Probably two of the "cutest" species in the snake world.
