Re: Got my bones!
Been tagged thousands of times, mostly by baby Kings & Carpets.
I also keep many species that try to eat me on occassion as well (Kings, Womas, Blackheads, Diamonds/Carpets).
Its not much fun having an 8ft python trying to eat you or knuckles full of teeth etc. but is all part of keeping/breeding snakes. Mark

Re: Got my bones!
i got tagged by my baby bp about a month back because i was being a newb and didnt wash the smell of mouse off my hand and when i went to retrieve Kali (the bp) i used the mouse-y hand to try and pick her up (not that i got that far lawl) and then wham! she got me right on my left wrist just below where the thumb starts but above the bones of the forearm. she held on for what felt like 5-6 seconds (i asked my brother and apparently it was more like .5 seconds xP) and she let go when she realized her mistake. she was only about 18 inches long (at a guess) so she barely left a mark. the only mark was a tiny (and i mean TINY) pin prick of blood on the soft underside of my wrist and i wiped that away once, and that was that. i totally agree on what you said about wanting to get it over with, and i must say im relieved i did. but obviously we're still gonna try and avoid them if we can help it..

Everybody gets tagged eventually. It will most likely be the one you least expect. hehehe It really doesn't hurt. It's just shocks you when it happens.

Re: Got my bones!
Ouch, Tokays hurt really bad; they don't like to let go. I used to have one, and he was a nasty bugger. My cats would swat the sides of his tank just to hear him bark and make wide eyes at me when he did. Lol.

Re: Got my bones!
My first ever bite was a baby Cali King snake, I`d had him for a month or two. He just bit my hand and quickly let go. I was quite shocked at how sharp it felt lol That`s the worst part of a snake bite though eh, the shock. Depending on the bite and the species though but you know what I mean. Since then I`ve been had by all sorts and as Infernalis says, I just keep still and wait for them to let go, I`m too worried about hurting the snake. I even take my wedding ring off before I handle one of my snakes just incase they bite and damage their teeth on it. I haven`t been bitten for a good while now though, but now I`ve said that, I`m sure my Blood python will rip my face off when I go in there later lol My most painful bite has to be an Amethistine Python that I didn`t even see was there, it was like being stabbed with a bottle, lots of blood and a big girly squeek......

Re: Got my bones!
I had him about 5 years ago. I adopted him from a kid at a pet store who just didn't want him anymore. The novelty of pissing him off and listening to him bark had worn off I guess and that was that. Psycho was huge when I went to pick him up- he was definitely full-grown, probably the body was 6 inches and the tail another 6 easily. So I know he was an adult but no idea how old he was. I had him for two years and then he just suddenly died on me. He was so pretty and quite alert and neat. I do miss him but I'm not anxious to get another one. He was a mean bugger!

cheers shaun
