Feeding Pictures/Colors

Hey, here are the requested pictures of Vermicelli eating, and the lump afterwards to see if he's ready for fuzzies. After seeing the relative size again, I'm inclined to say not just yet, but I'm open to your experienced input

Also, just as a heads up, I feed in a box (at least for right now). He has a real home, I promise

On a seperate subject, best guesses as to the recessive gene's he's got expressed? The closest I've been able to see is either Ghost or Phantom (Anery type A or B with Hypo)

And if he doesn't take to fuzzies, or they are hard to find, you can feel free to give multiple pinkies. I know I do that with my hognose who isn't big enough for fuzzies yet BUT does need more than one pinky.

Re: Feeding Pictures/Colors

Yeah, I've got him on 2 pinkies for right now, I'm just a little worried cuz fuzzies are so much bigger :/

I've already got 2 more weeks worth of pinkies, so I'll probably finish those off before moving him to fuzzies.

Slight diversion--is Adelina eating again?!

Re: Feeding Pictures/Colors

You've evidently found someone who supplies pinkies--do they sell fuzzies as well? When my snake refused to eat for 7 weeks, I went to the store and checked out the size of fuzzies. I found one that was maybe 1/8 inch larger than the largest pinkie I used before. I immediately fed her a f/t pinkie after eating her the fuzzy and she attacked, constricted and at. So, go look at fuzzies and see how small they can be.

No >.< I wish she was. Breeder I got her from looked at her this weekend and suggested waiting until March until another expo and then bring her by again to be looked at and possibly traded.

Gonna try feeding her this Wednesday or Thursday when my supplier gets more live pinks in. Then I am gonna scent both the live pink and the f/t one with salmon (supposed to work GREAT) and see if that will spur her to eat. If she eats both I will then try 2 f/t pinks next week. If she eats only the live then I will stick with live...if she eats nothing...well nothing will change.

Thanks for asking hun! I appreciate that.

Just ask to see the prey items and pick the ones that you want. As mentioned the can be very little difference in size, i have had some pinkys bigger than some of the fluffys. Most places should let you hand pick the size you want.

Re: Feeding Pictures/Colors

Ah see and here arises the issue: There's nowhere here that supplies feeder animals in such a way. My current source has them packed into small expensive boxes, and I think their definition of "fuzzy" also includes "hopper". I will probably buckle down and buy from Layne Labs here in a few days.

Nenna--No problem, I just hope she eats for ya!

Re: Feeding Pictures/Colors

Yeah, I figured out what my problem was. The area I live in doesn't have much (anymore) in terms of reptiles/supplies. I was buying boxes of 6 feeders for 10 bucks from the pet store for the time being, and their version of "Fuzzies" are actually Hoppers, I'm fairly certain. I'll be putting in an order from Layne Labs this sunday for 50 small Fuzzies.

From one Sean to another, Thanks
