Unhappy In desperate need of suggestions

I have recently moved to a small town without a pet store.I have no way of traveling to a pets store in the next little while. I need suggestions on something I could feed my small aproximate 6 month old ball python. Is there anything that could be bought in a grocery store that would be suitable for a quick solution?

I don't know. I've heard of people feeding snakes chicken parts, but the problem with that is that they dont' get the full spectrum of nutrients they would get from eating a whole prey item. You can order frozen rodents online from places like RodentPro.com and have them shipped to you.

There is NOTHING in a grocery store that you can feed your ball python. It's quite unnerving that you had zero foresight and didn't figure out how to keep your ball python alive prior to moving...
There are many rodent breeders that will deliver to your door.
Hit the internet or play around on some different forums, or e-mail me and I'll point you in the right direction.

When I planned to move there was supposed to be transportation available but due to unforseen problems unfortunatly the car is broke down. My ball python is a part of my family and had no intentions of miss treating him in any way.

Just a ? - How long has it been since he was fed? It's a good thing they have slow metabolisms.

I would go with ordering online. It will be the easiest way for you if you have no transportation and they keep for a good time in the freezer- I have never had a bag last longer than a month as I have a lot of snakes, but they were good for that length of time.

Re: In desperate need of suggestions

At 6 months of age he should be eating every 5-7 days, maybe you could push it to 10, but I would NOT let him go longer than 2 weeks without eating. Even if you order food online today, it will be at least another week until you get it. Far be it from me to chastise anyone, but in the future do plan ahead a bit more- you are completely responsible for your snake's survival- he cannot go out and get food or water or anything. I would order food for him ASAP or find a bus or taxi to get you to a pet store.
