attitude problem

ive had a snow corn snake since july and hes always been real calm everytime ive handled him and today i went to pick him up and he bite me. he always used to ber really calm when i went into his tank is there any reason for the sudden attitude change?

In my experience there can be many reasons for attitude change:

-Illness
-Sub par conditions (i,e, heat, humidity)
-Diet
-Shedding
-Handler mistake
-During breeding

I know the above list is kind of general but speaking from my own personal experiences with some of my Elaphe species these have shown to be a contributor to abnormal behavior. And keep in mind it may be none of the above and the snake could just be having a bad day

I agree with thee above post sometimes they just want to be left alone
But in my exp if i missed a meal and rushed in the tank i get bit or tried to pick them up without letting them know i am there i get bit but like he said there are alot of diff things that could be wrong you will learn from exp

i handled him a bit today and he seems to be a bit better. at least he didnt bite me like he did yesterday. he might be going into shed but he has shed plenty of times and ive been cleaning his cage with him around and hes never bit me before and the temps and humidity in his cage are good.

Might be as simple as mistaken identity. Snake saw a warm fleshy item & grabbed it by mistake thinking it could be prey. Did the snake just bite & release right away & then act normal or was it all defensive & S'ing up & hissing etc.? The WAY it goes about biting you will usually determine why you were bit, Mark

it was just a bite and release. so could it be because he thought i was food?
