She comes up climbs digs, and basks once very few days sometimes once a day, sometimes once a week or less. But she does 2 things even better, goes underground, and grows continually.

Wow a beautiful monitor, really love albigs no chance in me ever owning one though. Atleast I have nice pics to look at though

That's a big lizard.
You have to give some respect to somebody who can raise up a large animal like that into a healthy one.
That said... am glad I keep dart frogs...... No need to worry about those big, bad claws

Actually it will be 3 years ago I took this pic in 9 days, she was 2.5 months old and 20 inches long.

Shes a female actually...
Just think males can get bigger with the correct husbandry, as in over 7ft, and Id venture to estimate 38lbs plus, while maintaining that athletic look. A good example of a huge male WT was Titan from the San Diego zoo, he was over 6ft 10 inches and 38lbs. I saw one BT that was 7ft 3 inches, supposedly 53lbs.

i always love your pics, ive been wanting a blackthroat for the last 2 years. I finally got my girlfriend to give me permission to get one. any tips you could give me????how did you make that heat lamp setup??????

Its inexpensive and easy to make..
A piece of plywood about 7/16ths thick or more with 2,3,4, or more $129 ceramic light fixtures from a hardware store, drill holes to feed the wire (16 gauge at least, no thinner) through the center, wire all of them together and to the wire. Mount all of them so that the lightbulbs do not touch but are very close to each other (about 1/2 inch apart at the glass bulb) . You can do some adjusting with the screws as you are tightening them. Attach the cornersof the board to a 155 lb capacity chain from a hardware store, suspend from the top of the cage. With chains its east to adjust basking temps (raise or lower). Make it long enough or wide enough to prevent the animal from hanging over the side and being in constant contact with the bulbs, about 12 inches wide maybe, also make it long enough to be able to add more bulbs as the animal grows.

Her cage uses 6 bulbs total..
There are 4 over her basking spot, and 2 in the middle for extra heat mounted higher all are 45 watt halogen outdoor bulbs, 4 so she can evenly heat her STV length or most of it, I may switch to 5 bulbs over the basking spot and 1 in the center soon. The cage is 10ft long by 5ft high by 4ft wide. Ambient temps on the warm end are 81-82f with a 142f basking spot, and 72f on the cool end.
