clarification plz - monitor diet

I just want to make sure my monitor is getting everything he needs to be healthy.

On average, in a weeks time, he will go through seafood mix, 2 pink rats, chicken giblets, and a few smelts. Is this enough variety?

it isn't the variety that's the issue, it's the proportions of each. I'd be upping the number of rats it gets, reducing the levels of everything else, so instead of two pink rats it should be getting mostly rats or mice, with a few of the other items added in for variety.

Agreed.

I fed my Savanna mainly Rats and Mice...and then I gave her an egg a week for her to plau with then eat. She enjoyed them By the looks of yours he may have a hard time with one though haha

My albigs get as many chicks/rats/mice they can eat 2-3 times a week. Sometimes my largest eats 30+ chicks/small rats.... No exageration (this is per week)

Question Diet

Aren't you running the risk of your monitors developing
'fatty livers', by giving them too much protein?
I thought there was an article on that concerning captive savannah's and their diet.

Bartman would be, yes. Theres little to no bones in rat pinkies, and the rest of the diet is just pure meat/protein.

Definatly go with more full prey.
