Arizona High Coutry

I just recently moved and decided to explore my new environment. About 5 miles from where I am staying lies a gorgeous lil bit of area I thought would produce some decent herping and hiking.

I decided to tale a stroll out and about a few days ago to check things out. I found myself a trailhead and started flippin boards in woods piles, and within 5 minutes found this beauty. I took about 5 minutes a took some pics in some sunlight. My first live one this year, all others had happened to be DOR for me. I was very to see this guy. He had just shed and was very irredecent.

You can see the defensive behaviour as this snake tries to bury its head in its coils.

Just so green. Very nice on the eyes, and far better than the busy nature of the concrete habitat I just came from. Deep in this green area I found some very new Garters and a ton of gorgeous tree lizards, although to quick for pictures.

Nice Hypsiglena Beau! Which ssp. is it that you find in that area?

By tree lizards, what species are you referring to? Sceloporus?
