Here's a trap someone showed me. Have never had to use it but it looks like it would work well

You cut the top off a 2L bottle and reverse it. It should stick inside without glue or anything. I suggest not using tape if you want to stick it together. Anyway you just throw a mouse in and maybe even a heat pad under it. The snake will be funneled in, but once he gets in it will be hard to find the hole he came in from. Chances are he'll eat the mouse and be stuck.

Here’s a bad picture to help explain it better. Good luck!

I probably wouldn't use live..if it gets out then you have a snake and a mouse loose, even though the snake would probably catch it eventually.

I dont know if this works but i was told that you tie the mouse to a string then tie the string to something that cant be moved like a fridge but from what they said they used a string that could be digested ?????? what kind i dont know but when th snake eats the mouse it will be stuck there with your fridge then just cut the string like i said sont know if this works and the bottle idea would probably be better but if all else fails maybe try this as a last resort to get your snake back to its safe enviroment>

I think the bottle trick is worth a try, but do not use a live mouse.

Cornered animals can be very dangerous, and if the mouse reacts violently to the introduction of a snake into that small of a space, the snake may not be able to back out, or escape if it makes it in all the way.

By the time the mouse is subdued you could have a mortally wounded pet. Try frozen/thawed and let it sit overnight. It'll get a little ripe but it shouldn't stink up the house right away

If you're going to have a heat pad out, put it beside the bottle, not underneath. With the pad underneath. the mouse will decomp at a much faster rate and produce lots of nasty bacteria, plus the bottle will become a heat trap and your snake may die of heat prostration before you can rescue it.

--edit: left out half a sentence somehow --

If i were you id throw a LIVE fuzzy mouse in the bottle. Live, so it wont rot overnight, fuzzy so it cant injure the snake

Thanks,
Ben

to bad that bottle idea wont work for catching a ball python...mine got away while i was soaking him to assist in a bad shed, the phone rang, came back no more than 1 minute later (call wasn't for me) and poof, gone snake! any ideas for catching a ball?, i've curently lifted and gone through anything on the floor, and am going to be sprinkling flour EVERYWHERE (thankgod for tiled floors) hopefully i'll find evidence of him wandering around tonight, and maybe a trail to follow! if that doesnt work, ill be putting tinfoil in spots that look like good hiding places, and keep an ear open for sounds
